Everyone! Locals and visitors can search for businesses, events, schools, and nonprofits. Businesses, schools, churches, and community organizations can join as members to create a profile, get reviews, and promote unlimited events.
What is The Plug?
The Plug is a local-first business and community directory. We connect residents, visitors, and organizations with trusted local businesses, schools, nonprofits, events, and more. Starting in DFW and expanding across Texas, The Plug makes it easy to find what you need in your city all in one place.
How is The Plug different from Yelp or Google?
Unlike big national directories, The Plug is built city by city. Each city has its own dedicated Plug site (e.g., Burleson Plug), giving businesses stronger local SEO while making it easier for locals to find trusted, nearby options.
Memberships & Listings
Do I need a membership to appear on The Plug?
Yes. Businesses, schools, and nonprofits must have a membership to create and control their listing. Membership unlocks your profile, reviews, and unlimited event promotion.
What membership plans are available?
We offer three tiers:
Realtor Membership – For real estate professionals, includes up to 7 listings.
Standard Membership – Perfect for small businesses.
Premium Membership – Maximum exposure with video profiles, featured placement, and SEO support.

Can I join more than one city?
Yes! Many businesses serve multiple cities. You can purchase listings in additional Plug cities for broader exposure.
Can I upgrade or downgrade later?
Absolutely. You can change plans at any time in your dashboard.

Events
Can anyone post an event?
Event promotion is a members-only benefit. As a Plug Member, you can submit unlimited events from networking mixers to school fundraisers and church gatherings.
What kinds of events can I post?
Anything local that benefits the community, including:
- Business mixers & networking events
- School activities & fundraisers
- Nonprofit events & church gatherings
- Local showcases, expos, and fairs
Where do events appear?
Your event will appear on your city’s Plug calendar and in the Hub’s master event listings.
Reviews
How do reviews work?
Locals can leave reviews on member profiles to share their experiences. Reviews build trust and help businesses grow.
Can businesses remove bad reviews?
No. Reviews must remain authentic. However, members can respond publicly to reviews to share their side and build credibility. Fake or spam reviews can be reported for removal.
Billing & Support
How does billing work?
Memberships are subscription-based. You can choose monthly or annual billing. Payments are processed securely through our third-party payment providers.
Do you offer refunds?
Monthly memberships are non-refundable. Annual memberships may be refunded within 7 days if no features have been used.
